Stuffed Shells

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. parsley
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/3 c. dry red wine
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 jars (15 oz.) spaghetti sauce

Directions

    Brown meat, onion and garlic, then drain off fat and let cool. Stir in cheese, crumbs, parsley, egg, salt, pepper and Mozzarella cheese.

    Cook shells in boiling water and 1 tablespoon of oil and salt until almost tender, approximately 15 minutes.

    Drain and stuff shells.

    Pour small amount of sauce on bottom of casserole dish (9 x 13 x 2-inches).

    Lay shells and mix wine with remaining sauce and pour over top of shells.

    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake in preheated oven at 400° approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
