  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. sour milk

Directions

    Sift flour in a large bowl. Add shortening until coarse like meal. Stir in sugar. Add eggs and beat thoroughly.

    Mix in milk and vanilla. Stir until well blended and chill for several hours. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 325° until golden brown.
