  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 3 c. walnut halves or large pieces
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

    Stir sugar and sour cream in a 4-quart saucepan.

    Cook until candy thermometer reaches 234° (soft ball stage).

    Stir in nuts and vanilla.

    Continue to stir until creamy.

    Turn out quickly on a greased baking sheet and separate pieces.

    When cooled, candy should become crisp.
