- 1/2 whole Red Pepper, Sliced Thin
- 1/2 whole Green Pepper, Sliced Thin
- 1/2 whole Red Onion, Sliced Thin
- 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
- 1/2 pounds Italian Sausage (reduced Fat Preferred)
- 1 package Pizza Dough, About 10 Oz
- 1/2 packages Pepperoni Slices, About 30 Slices
- 1- 1/2 cup Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
- 1/4 cups Butter Or Margarine, Melted
- 2 teaspoons Pizza Seasoning (optional)
- 2 Tablespoons Corn Meal
- 1 jar Pizza Sauce, 8 Oz.
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

2In a skillet over medium heat saute the peppers, onion and garlic for about 4 minutes.

3Remove veggies from pan.

4Next, brown the sausage in the skillet over medium heat until no pink shows; drain grease.

5Set sausage aside for assembly.

6Lay pizza dough flat on your counter (or on a cookie sheet if you are not using a pizza peel).

7Distribute pepperoni slices and sausage over one half/side of the dough (youre eventually going to fold the other half of the dough over to create the stromboli).

8Add the veggies.

9Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

10Fold dough over and pinch ends and sides together.

11Cut slits in the top of the stromboli and brush melted butter on it.

12Sprinkle with pizza seasoning.

13Place the corn meal on your pizza peel to allow the stromboli to come off easily.

14If you are not using a pizza peel and pizza stone, sprinkle corn meal onto your baking sheet directly below where you will place the stromboli.

15Cook in a preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

16Slice into individual sections to serve with warm pizza or marinara sauce.

17**The cornmeal is completely optional in this recipe.

18Although, I do like the texture and crunch it adds it is not a recipe breaker to not have it.
