- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. rolled oats
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 pkg. chocolate bits, melted
- 1 c. crushed walnuts
Directions

1Beat together all ingredients except chocolate bits and walnuts.

2Spread in ungreased cookie sheet.

3Bake in a 350° oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

4While baking, melt chocolate bits in small saucepan.

5Spread melted chocolate bits over bars while warm.

6Sprinkle crushed walnuts over melted chocolate bits while warm.

7Cut in squares when cool.
