Ingredients
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. rolled oats
- shredded coconut, chopped walnuts or pecans
- 2 small pkg. chocolate bits
Directions

1Heat oven to 325°.

2In medium bowl, cream sugars and shortening.

3Add and mix well eggs, vanilla, flour and rolled oats.

4Spread in greased 9 x 12-inch pan.

5Bake 20 to 30 minutes (until top is a nice brown and has pulled away from the sides a little).

6Melt chocolate bits and spread over hot base.
-
7Sprinkle with shredded coconut or chopped walnuts or pecans. Let cool before cutting into squares.
