Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 4 1/2 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 cardamon seeds, crushed to powder
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Dissolve 2 packages yeast, water, 1 teaspoon sugar and 1 tablespoon flour to make a thin paste.

    Let rise.

    Scald milk.

    Let shortening, margarine and Crisco melt in milk to lukewarm.

    Add to rest of ingredients.

    Knead and let rise until double.

    Roll out and make two rectangles.

    Spread with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

    Roll up like jelly roll.

    Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes.
