- 1 c. walnuts
- 1 c. Spry or 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening
- 4 eggs, separated
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 3 c. flour (level)
- 2 tsp. baking powder (heaping)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar.

2Beat egg yolks and add to mixture. Sift baking powder, flour and pinch of salt together.

3Add milk and flour alternately to mixture, a little of each at a time.

4Flour nuts lightly and add to mixture.

5Beat egg whites separately and fold in carefully (do not beat).

6Bake at 350° to 375° (start at 375° and turn down to 350°, 40 to 50 minutes).

7Use a good sized pan.
