- 3 1/2 c. nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts)
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 stiffly beaten egg whites
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
Directions

1Toast nuts in slow oven (325°) until light brown.

2Fold sugar into egg whites; beat until stiff peaks form.

3Fold nuts into meringue.

4Melt margarine in a 13 x 9-inch pan.

5Spread nut mixture over margarine.

6Bake in slow oven for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, or until nuts are coated with brown covering and no butter remains in the pan.

7Cool.

8Makes about 4 cups.
