Swedish Pecans

  • 4 c. whole pecan halves (1 lb.)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 stiff beaten egg whites
  • 3/4 stick butter/margarine

Directions

    Toast pecans on cookie sheet at 325° until lightly brown. Fold sugar into egg whites and beat again to stiff peaks.

    Fold toasted pecans into egg whites.

    Melt butter in 9 x 13-inch pan. Spread nut mixture in pan and bake 30 minutes.

    Turn mixture with spatula every 10 minutes.

    Let cool a bit, then break apart.
