Ingredients
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. soft shortening
- 7 to 7 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts, if desired
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water, let set 5 minutes.

2Stir in milk, sugar, salt, eggs and shortening.

3Add flour, 1 cup at a time.

4Add enough flour to handle easily.

5Turn out onto floured surface.

6Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.

7Roll up into a ball and place into a greased bowl and roll over, greased side up.

8Cover with a damp cloth and place in a warm, draft free area.

9Let rise until doubled in size, about 1 to 2 hours.
