Sweet Roll Rings

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 5 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast with 3/4 cup warm water; set aside.

    In large bowl, mix sugar, butter, salt and hot water; let cool.

    Add egg, yeast water and flour.

    Let rise, punch down.

    Divide into 3 parts. Roll into rectangles.

    Cover with soft butter.

    Sprinkle with sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon.

    Roll rectangles up lengthwise. Form a circle; pinch together.

    Cut slits across top with scissors. Turn up angles.

    Let rise.

    Cook at 400° until brown, 10 to 15 minutes.

    Sugar glaze (powdered sugar and hot water).
