- 6 (1/2-inch thick) French bread slices
- 6 (1/8-inch thick) Swiss cheese slices
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 6 boneless chicken breast halves, skinned
- 1/2 c. dry white wine
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. green onions
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet; place a slice of cheese on each bread slice.

3Place in oven to melt cheese.

4In a large skillet, melt butter.

5Add chicken pieces; cook until done.

6Place 1 piece cooked chicken on top of each bread slice.

7Return to oven to keep warm.

8Pour wine into same skillet. Add mushrooms and onions; saute until cooked.

9Stir in cornstarch, milk and salt.

10Cook, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.

11Place chicken-topped bread on a platter.

12Top with mushroom sauce.
