  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 lb. round steak (1 1/2-inches thick)
  • 1 1/2 c. cooked tomatoes
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced

Directions

    Pound flour into steak.

    Brown in hot oil.

    Add tomatoes, onion and celery. Cover and cook over low heat or in a moderate oven at 300° until tender (2 to 2 1/2 hours), uncovering the last 1/2 hour to cook down sauce to a rich thickness.
