- 1 to 1 1/2 lb. round steak, sliced into strips, approximately 3 x 1/2-inch each
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Brown meat in frying pan. Add onion. Add remaining ingredients.

2Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes*, adding additional water, if necessary.

3Before serving, add 1 tablespoon cornstarch to a small amount of water and mix into meat to thicken sauce.

4Serve over hot rice.

5Makes 4 to 6 servings.
