Tabasco Marinated Shrimp

Ingredients
- 3 lb. raw shrimp (fresh or frozen)
- 2 (12 oz.) bottles or cans beer
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
Directions

1Remove shells and veins from shrimp.

2Rinse.

3In a saucepan, combine beer, Tabasco sauce, salt, mustard, vinegar, onion slices, sugar and thyme.

4Bring to a boil and simmer about 1 minute.

5Add only enough cleaned shrimp as will be covered by the liquid mixture.

6Return to boiling and then simmer 2 to 5 minutes, depending on size.

7Remove shrimp and repeat cooking procedure. Remove from liquid.

8Cool both shrimp and liquid.

9Return shrimp to cooled liquid and marinate for several hours.

10Drain.

11Serve with wooden picks as hors d'oeuvres or appetizer.
