Ingredients
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (16 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 12 firm taco shells
- 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack with jalapeno peppers
- 1/2 small head lettuce
- 2 medium tomatoes
- sour cream
- taco sauce
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Brown ground beef and onion.

3Stir in tomato sauce, beans and seasoning.

4Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan. Break taco shells in half at fold.

5Place shells, rounded side up, along the sides of casserole and top with cheese.

6Bake 15 minutes. Sprinkle with reserved taco shells and bake 5 minutes longer.

7Top with lettuce and tomatoes just before serving.

8Pass sour cream and taco sauce.
