Ingredients

  • 2 servings cooked white rice
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 pinch ichimi spice or cayenne pepper (optional to add spiciness)
  • 1/2 Tbsp chili powder mix
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 170 g ground beef
  • 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp sake (rice wine)
  • 2-3 pinches salt
  • 1 handful lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • to taste shredded cheese

Directions

    Prepare your rice so it gets done by the time you are ready to eat.

    Heat oil in a frying pan and add the onions and garlic.

    Cook until onions are soft.

    Add the ichimi/cayenne pepper, chili powder and cumin and mix in with the onions for a minute.

    Then add the beef and cook until brown.

    When the beef is cooked, mix in tomato paste, soy sauce, sake and a little salt.

    Mix well.

    Cook until the sauce is thick and not watery any more.

    Chop up the tomato and lettuce for topping.

    Put the rice on a plate and put meat on top.

    Top it with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes!
