Ingredients

  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 12 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 12 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced white onion
  • 2 tablespoons jarred canned jalapeno slices, diced
  • 12 tablespoon jalapeno juice (from the jar, to taste)

Directions

    Combine the tomato paste with the water in large non-reactive pot.

    stir until smooth.

    Add cayenne, chilli powder, salt, corn starch, and vinegar.

    Bring to a hard boil, stirring often.

    Boil for 3-5 minutes.

    remove from heat.

    Cool then refrigerate

    (if desired use sterile jars, rings and lids for hot water canning method for 20 minutes to make shelf stable.
