Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 medium onion, chopped or 1/2 c. dry onion
  • 3 (10 oz.) cans chopped tomatoes
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can beef broth or 29 oz. water
  • grated cheese
  • sour cream
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can pinto beans
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can kidney beans
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can butter beans
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can garbanzo beans
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 1 pkg. powdered Ranch dressing
  • 3 small cans hot peppers or chili peppers (optional)

Directions

    Brown hamburger.

    Put all ingredients except cheese and sour cream into a 2-quart saucepan.

    Simmer 15 to 20 minutes.

    When serving, sprinkle cheese on top and add 1 tablespoon sour cream. The amount of hot peppers you use would depend on how hot you want the soup to be.

    Use tortilla chips instead of crackers to complement this soup.
