  • 1/2 c. shortening, margarine, etc.
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 1/2 c. flour (if too soft, add as needed)

Directions

    Cream together shortening, margarine, etc., and sugar, then add eggs, salt, milk, baking powder and vanilla.

    Mix all ingredients; knead in flour.

    Roll out 1/2-inch thick and cut.

    Bake at 350° until light brown (10 to 15 minutes).

    Makes about 3 dozen.
