- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- 3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- green and red sugar sprinkles (optional)
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well.

2Add eggs and milk; beat well.

3Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in a small mixing bowl. Gradually add to creamed mixture, stirring well after each addition.

4Shape dough into a ball.

5Wrap in waxed paper and chill at least 30 minutes.

6Shape dough into 1-inch balls.

7Place about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

8Flatten with palm of hand.

9Sprinkle with sugar; bake at 325° for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

10Yields 6 dozen.
