  • beef roast (shoulder or chuck)
  • all-purpose seasoning
  • salt
  • pepper
  • self-rising flour

Directions

    Wash roast in cold water.

    Sprinkle with all-purpose seasoning, salt and pepper on all sides.

    Roll in flour.

    Put in hot grease in large iron skillet and brown on both sides.

    Put in roasting pan and sprinkle with more all-purpose seasoning.

    Add 2 cups water and cover tightly with aluminum foil.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour for each pound of meat or until tender.
