Tender Crust Dinner Rolls

Ingredients
- 1/4 c. warm (not hot) water
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 3/4 c. lukewarm milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
Directions

1Soak yeast in 1/4 cup warm water for 5 minutes.

2Combine milk, sugar and salt; stir.

3Beat in butter, eggs, 1 cup flour and softened yeast mixture with rotary beater until smooth.

4Add remaining flour until dough leaves sides of bowl.

5Knead until smooth and elastic and no longer sticky.

6Place in greased bowl; grease top of dough.

7Cover with waxed paper; let rise in warm place (80° to 85°) until double (1 to 1 1/2 hours).

8Punch down. Form into rolls of desired shape.

9Place on greased baking or muffin pans.

10Let rise until light and doubled (30 to 40 minutes). Bake at 425° for 8 to 10 minutes.

11Makes 2 dozen.
