- 2 large onions, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 c. canned tomatoes
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. bell pepper powder
- 2 bell peppers, chopped
- 1 lb. lean hamburger meat
- 1/2 c. uncooked rice
- 2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine meat, onion and bell pepper; cook until meat is browned.

2Drain off excess fat.

3Add tomatoes, rice and seasonings and mix well.

4Pour into a large greased casserole.

5Cover and bake at 375° for 45 minutes.

6Can add grated cheese to top casserole and bake until cheese melts.
