  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

    Preheat oven to 350°

    Grease 13x9x2 baking pan.

    In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.

    In a medium saucepan combine butter, cocoa, and water. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.

    With a hand-held mixer on medium speed, beat chocolate mixture into the dry mixure until thoroughly blended. Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Beat for 1 minute.

    Pour batter into prepared pan.

    Bake for 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
