  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 5 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Melt in saucepan and bring to a boil the margarine, shortening, cocoa and water.

    Blend and add the sugar, salt, flour and soda. Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk.
  3. 3
    Bake at 350° for 20 minutes in an oblong cake pan. Five minutes before cake is done; mix topping.
