- 2 c. pinto beans
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 lb. salt pork
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
- 3/4 c. diced green peppers
- 6 drops hot pepper sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Cover beans with water; soak overnight.

2Do not drain.

3Add onion, salt pork, garlic, salt and a dash of pepper.

4Cook, covered, for 2 hours over low heat.

5Add tomatoes, green pepper, hot pepper sauce and sugar.

6Cook, covered, for 3 more hours. Serve with corn bread.
