Texas Walnut Pie

- 1/2 c. butter
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- dash of salt
- 1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 1 egg
- 1 c. walnuts or pecans, coarsely chopped
Directions

1In saucepan, slowly melt butter.

2Add cocoa; blend until smooth.

3Stir hot water into cocoa mixture and blend.

4In large bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt with a wire whisk until well blended.

5Stir cocoa mixture into the dry ingredients.

6Add milk and egg and blend until smooth.

7Stir in nuts.

8Pour into 9-inch pie crust (prebake 5 minutes).

9Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.

10Cool before cutting into thin slices.

11Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
