- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 lb. (4 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 c. superfine sugar
- 5 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Coat a large baking sheet with 1 tablespoon of softened butter.

3Beat 1 pound butter and cup of sugar together at high speed; then beat in flour, one cup at a time.

4Beat until smooth.

5(You might have to use your hands.)

6On floured board, roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick.

7Cut rectangles, triangles or Christmas cookie cutter

8shapes, etc..

9Prick all over with tines of fork.

10Bake 22 to 27 minutes until firm and lightly browned.

11Cool on cake racks.

12Will keep for 2 or 3 weeks in covered jars.
