Toasted Sesame Asparagus

- 1 bunch fresh asparagus
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 14 cup olive oil, divided
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 12 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2Place sesame seeds in a dry, non stick skillet and toast seeds for 3-4 minutes, or until brown.

3Keep a steady eye so they don't burn.

4Set aside.

5Cut bottoms off of asparagus and wash.

6In large ziplock bag, combine 1/2 the olive oil, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, and garlic powder.

7Shake it and mix it.

8Add asparagus to the bag and toss to coat.

9Spread asparagus out evenly and spaced out on a foil lined baking sheet.

10Drizzle with remaining olive oil.

11Sprinkle sesame seeds over asparagus evenly.

12Sprinkle salt and pepper on the top.

13Bake at 400 degrees for 10-13 minutes and test with a fork for the tenderness you desire.
