- 1 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 c. softened margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Mix brown sugar, margarine, vanilla and egg yolk.

3Stir in flour and salt.

4Press in greased rectangular pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch).

5Bake until very light brown, 25 to 30 minutes.

6Crust will be soft.

7Immediately place chocolate chips on crust.

8Put back in oven until melted.

9Spread evenly. Sprinkle with nuts; cut into bars while warm.

10Yields 32 (2 x 1 1/2-inch) bars.
