Toffee Cookie Squares

   Sift flour.

   Add salt and sugar.

   Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse meal.

   Add beaten egg yolk and vanilla. Pack into a 9 x 9-inch square pan.

   Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

   While warm, spread with melted chocolate.

   Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

   Cool and cut into small squares.
