- 1 c. butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 7/8 c. all-purpose flour
- 6 milk chocolate bars (1.65 oz. each)
- 1 c. chopped, toasted almonds or pecans
Directions

1In mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light-colored and fluffy.

2Add egg yolk and vanilla.

3Gradually beat in flour until smooth and blended.

4(Dough will be thick.) Spread evenly on 14 x 16-inch baking pan.

5Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown and puffy.

6Remove from oven.

7Arrange unwrapped chocolate bars evenly over top of crust. Let stand 5 minutes to soften.

8Spread chocolate evenly over crust. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

9Cool and cut into squares. Yield: 40 squares.
