Tomato Aspic

Ingredients

  • 4 c. tomato juice
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 2 envelopes gelatin, soaked in 1/2 c. cold water
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • pinch of salt and pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c. chopped walnuts (if desired)
  • 1 c. sliced olives (if desired)

Directions

    Simmer the first 5 ingredients for 15 minutes.

    Strain the liquor into the gelatin.

    Add the vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.

    Cool.

    If desired, add the walnuts and olives.

    Pour into mold and chill.
