- 35 to 40 saltines
- 5 to 7 fresh ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 c. mayonnaise (may need a little more)
- 4 to 5 boiled eggs, chopped (optional)
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Make as many layers as necessary to fill a 1 1/2-quart casserole or container which is at least 4 inches deep.

2Begin with crackers, then tomatoes, seasonings, mayonnaise, eggs and seasonings.

3Refrigerate.

4Use within a day or two, as the salad will become soggy.
