- 4 large, ripe tomatoes or enough to fill crust
- 1 (9-inch) prebaked pie crust
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 c. mayonnaise
- 1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 Tbsp. chopped chives
- 1 Tbsp. chopped basil
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Peel and seed the tomatoes and slice 3/4-inch thick.

3Put enough tomatoes in the crust to fill, but don't overflow.

4Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5Mix together the mayonnaise, cheese, chives and basil, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste; spread over the tomatoes.

6Bake for about 20 minutes or until the topping turns golden brown and pie is bubbling.

7Cool slightly before serving.
