Tomato Pudding

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 c. dried bread (drier the better), cubed and crusts removed
  • 1/2 c. melted butter

    Put dried bread cubes in deep casserole.

    Pour melted butter over them.

    Set aside.

    Combine brown sugar, tomato puree and water.

    Bring to a boil, simmer for 5 minutes and pour the mixture over the bread cubes.

    Bake 45 minutes in 350° oven until the top puffs and browns.

    Serve immediately!
