Ingredients

  • 1/2 bushel tomatoes
  • 3 lb. onions
  • 2 Tbsp. basil
  • 2 Tbsp. oregano
  • 4 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. oil
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 3 to 4 bell peppers if desired

Directions

    Peel tomatoes and lightly chop bell peppers.

    Mix all ingredients together and cook 1 hour.

    At end of cooking time, add tomato paste.

    Stir frequently, bring back to boil.

    Put in hot jars; seal.
