Tomato Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lb. lean chuck
  • 3 marrow bones
  • 2 or 3 bay leaves
  • a few whole peppercorns
  • small sour cream
  • 2 large cans whole tomatoes
  • carrots
  • 1 Tbsp. flour

Directions

    Put 3 quarts water in large saucepan.

    Add meat, bones, bay leaves and peppercorns.

    Cover and let boil for 1 or 2 hours.

    Add tomatoes and carrots; cook 1 hour.

    Add 1 tablespoon flour to sour cream and mix.

    Make sure soup is bubbly before adding sour cream mix; stir to mix well.

    Cover and simmer 1 hour.
