- 2 cans stewed tomatoes *
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
- 2 c. day old bread crumbs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 4 tsp. sugar
Directions

1Cook onion and bell pepper in butter until tender (about 5 minutes).

2Add all of the remaining ingredients. Mix.

3Place in casserole dish.

4Top with buttered bread crumbs.**

5Bake in 375° oven 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.

6Serves 6.
