- 1 Tbsp. butter (margarine)
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 8 oz. tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 c. canned pitted ripe olives, sliced
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 6 corn tortillas, buttered
- 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Melt butter; add beef, onion and garlic.

2Cook to brown the meat; drain fat.

3Add tomato sauce, olives, chili powder, salt and pepper to meat mixture and stir well.

4In a 2-quart casserole dish, alternate layers of buttered tortillas with meat sauce mixture and 1 1/2 cups of cheese.

5Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese over top.

6Pour water at edge of casserole into bottom of dish.

7Cover and bake at 400° for 25 minutes.

8Uncover and let stand for 5 minutes, then cut into 4 wedges and serve.
