- 8 oz. fresh mushrooms
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. marjoram
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 6 slices day old bread
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 6 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Using a 10-inch frying pan, melt one tablespoon butter over medium heat.

2Add mushrooms, onion and marjoram and cook until onion begins to turn clear.

3Remove from heat.

4Spread remaining 2 tablespoons butter over one side of day-old bread.

5Cut bread into 1/2-inch cubes leaving crusts on.

6Using casserole dish, layer half the bread cubes on the bottom of dish.

7Cover with the mushroom-onion mixture.

8Combine all three cheeses and dry mustard. Sprinkle over mixture.

9Top with remaining bread cubes.

10Mix milk, eggs, salt and pepper.

11Pour over the bread and cheese.

12Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
