  • 4 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk
  • melted butter

Directions

    Mix first four ingredients in a bowl.
  2. 2
    Mix in Crisco and buttermilk and form into a soft ball.
  3. 3
    Place on a floured board. Roll out dough and cut with biscuit cutter.
  4. 4
    Bake 10 to 15 minutes, then spread melted butter on top and bake 5 more minutes in oven temperature of 350°.
