Ingredients

  • 2 lb. turnips
  • 1/4 c. light cream or evaporated milk
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 Tbsp. oleo or butter
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. corn meal or uncooked Cream of Wheat

Directions

    Pare turnips and boil in salted water.

    Drain; mash (makes 2 cups mashed).

    Add light cream or evaporated milk, egg, oleo, brown sugar and corn meal or Cream of Wheat.

    Bake 40 minutes in 350° oven.
