- fresh turnips with tops
- 1/2 lb. bacon or 1 1/2 c. ham, cut into chunks
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Clean turnip greens thoroughly to remove any sand.

2Strip out heavy leaf vein.

3Peel turnips; cut into small cubes.

4Put greens, turnips and meat in saucepot (2 or 3-quart).

5Add 3/4 cup water. Cook over medium heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
