Turnip Soup

Ingredients
- 1 piece pork
- salt and pepper
- water
- turnip roots
- 1 onion
- 1 or 2 Tbsp. cornmeal
Directions

1Put a piece of very lean and boneless fresh pork in a large soup pot and cover with water.

2Salt and pepper to taste and cook until pork is tender enough to shred.

3In pork broth, with the shredded pork, add peeled and diced turnip roots and one onion that has been chopped.

4Finish filling pot with water, to cover the roots.

5Cook until roots are very tender.

6With a potato masher, mash up a bit, and sprinkle a tablespoon or two of cornmeal over top of soup and stir well.

7This will thicken it.
