- 2 lb. turnips
- 4 strips lean bacon
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. turnip stock
- 1 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. paprika
Directions

1Peel, wash, quarter and cook turnips until tender.

2Saute in butter or margarine the celery and green pepper.

3Add this mixture to cooked turnips with turnip stock and salt.

4Pour mixture in a well-greased casserole dish.

5Sprinkle bread crumbs and paprika on top.

6Place strips of bacon on top of bread crumbs.

7Bake in oven at 325° for 40 minutes.

8Makes 12 servings.
