- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 14 oz. caramels
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 6 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Mix cake according to package directions.

2Set aside half of the batter; pour remaining batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan and bake at 350° for 18 minutes.

3Meanwhile, in a saucepan over low heat, melt the caramels, milk and margarine. Remove from heat and add nuts.

4Pour over baked cake; sprinkle with chocolate chips and reserved batter.

5Bake 20 to 25 minutes more or until cake springs back when lightly touched.

6Cool.

7Cut into squares.

8Top with ice cream or powdered sugar and a pecan half.
