  • 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
  • 14 oz. pkg. caramels
  • 6 oz. chopped pecans
  • 1/4 lb. margarine
  • 7 oz. Eagle Brand condensed sweetened milk
  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

    Mix cake according to directions on box.

    Bake 1/2 the mix in greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan at 350°

    for 15 minutes.

    In top of double boiler, melt together, butter, caramels and condensed milk.

    Remove from heat and cool slightly.

    Pour over baked 1/2 of cake.

    Pour remaining 1/2 of cake batter on top. Sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips.

    Bake additional 25 minutes at 350°.
